How to Get Coordinates from Google Maps? | View GPS coordinates in Google Maps

You would like to determine the GPS coordinates of a specific location? With Google Maps this is very easy. You can read below how to proceed in the browser. You’ll also find tips for reverse searching here.

Display GPS coordinates in Google Maps
In the first step in the top left-hand corner of the Google Maps search box, enter the location whose GPS coordinates you want to view. Usually the map tool suggests several points or stops in a drop-down menu. Select the desired location here. This will then be displayed as a red symbol in Google Maps. Now place the cursor on this symbol and call up the context menu with the right mouse button.

Then click on the menu item “What is here?”. Google Maps will now display information about the selected location in the middle of the bottom edge of the screen. Under the address you will find the GPS coordinates with longitude and latitude.

Enter the coordinates: Where and in what form?
The reverse case also works: You have the GPS coordinates of a certain location, but you do not know where it is. To find the location using Google Maps, simply enter the coordinates in the search box in the upper left corner.

According to the official Google Maps help, the map tool accepts data in degrees and decimal degrees, minutes, decimal minutes and seconds. For example, if you enter the GPS coordinates 52.516454, 13.377693 in this decimal form, Google Maps will guide you directly to the Germany, Berlin.
